    How to send WhatApp message on Ubuntu desktop PC

    Hi all,

    How to send WhatApp message on Ubuntu desktop PC without SIM card nor phone number?

    On googling I found;
    Whatsapp on Ubuntu 15.10 desktop *without having access to a smartphone*
    https://askubuntu.com/questions/7401...o-a-smartphone

    Whether pidgin-whatsapp package works on Ubuntu 18.04 or Ubuntu 20.04?

    Are there other better solution? Thanks

    Regards

    No, not possible. You'd know that if you cared to read the question you linked.
    The answer there should work:

    TL;DR: Run it on Android x86 in VirtualBox with limited resources allocated to it, and hook that up with the web app or desktop client to have a desktop interface.

    There is a WhatsApp Flatpak package, possibly two, available. You could look into those. I haven't used these myself.

    Yes, but those require an account and an account that typically can only be obtained with a smartphone.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your advice.

    I have tried that route several years ago, running Android x86 on VM of VirtualBox but failed finally.

    Well, I always say that any attempt to outsmart service providers is doomed to fail sooner or later.
    If you don't need the service just don't use it because everyone else does. But if you "need" to then follow their rules.

    Code:

    There should be a way to do almost what you want.

    For example:
    I pair my iPhone to my Macbook, then I copy and paste between them with the Universal Clipboard.
    That way I can copy something on the Mac and paste it into Wassup on the phone.

    It should be possible to do the same with some or other Bluetooth or Wifi utility between Linux and an Android phone.

    Here are some ways to do that:

    Hi HermanAB,

    Thanks for your advice.

    I'm searching for a way to send WhatsAPP messages direct from Ubuntu desktop PC to friends' mobile phones without my Android phone turning ON.

    For years I did following stupid way;
    1. Prepare long message on desktop PC on Text Editor.
    2. Copy the message to Yahoo Mail and send the message to myself
    3. Start Android phone and then Yahoo Mail
    4. Copy and paste the long message on WhatsAPP
    5. Send WhatsAPP to my friend.

    It works seamlessly.
