As the title says, I'm curious if anyone here has played with Anbox? I'm going to try running some android apps on an old Dell Latitude 2110 (after putting an SSD in it) just to see what happens. As I was looking for possibilities I noticed Canonical actually has created Anbox:

https://anbox.io/
Seems interesting since it runs in the cloud rather than in a VM. Makes me think it would be less resource hungry and those 2110's max out at 2 GB RAM so performance is an issue.
The general idea is to avoid moving from the flip-phone I love to a smartphone which is just ill suited for me - I dabble in old car and truck restoration so everything I carry gets exposed to lots of abuse! But there are times when certain apps could actually save me money, and who doesn't like to do that? An example is GoodRX, although it's doubtful I'd actually use it. I'll grant you flipping out a 10" netbook rather than a smartphone or tablet might get a few laughs but I could care less. Heck, aging has progressed me into a laughable figure anyway - my face is now 90% nose and ears
