    Question Shutdown

I have been using linux for the past several years with no shutdown problems. I turn the computer off after I logout and I have not had any maleware problems. I have heard from others that it is better to leave the computer running after I logout. Is it better to leave the computer on or shut it down? Your thoughts, please. Thank you in advance.

    Re: Shutdown

I turn mine off for the simple reason of energy usage. Why waste it. As far as negative impact, I have been turning my computer off for decades without issue. Not only that, but I power it up sever times throughout the day....its up to you in the end.

or put it on suspend, saves a lot of power and instantly wakes up. Hibernate has never worked on any ubuntu computer I have used.

    Re: Shutdown

I turn it on when I first need to use it that day. If I am home all day, I leave it on until I know that I will not be using it anymore until tomorrow.
