    problem with printer driver HP

    Dear forum members

When I upgraded from win 7 to win 10 my old (HP Laserjet 4650) would no longer work. The driver doesnt work.
Therefore I took the plunge with ubuntu (dual boot) and was pleased that the HP driver does work on that printer.

The only difficulty is that functionality is reduced. What I mean is that the ubuntu hplib driver only gives you option of 2 types of paper whereas the win 7 driver gave you many options for kinds of paper.
For example in ubuntu the "Heavy Gloss" option that I had when I was printing under win 7 is no longer an option.

Please does anyone know if there is a workround in regard to this problem?
    Best wishes
    Ian

I'm not a photographer so I haven't needed the options you are looking for. Since no one else seems to have any suggestions here, you might want to try the options at the HPLIP Developers' website:

    Knowledge Base Search - https://developers.hp.com/search/site

    and

    Help Page - https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-i...inting/support

These guys wrote and maintain HPLIP, so the gory details of what the program can actually achieve are up to them.
