    Cctv nvr?

Hello, I hope I'm posting this in the right place? I'm not sure where to post this at. I'm looking for a ubuntu CCTV VNR software that is free. The problem is sense i can not work and i don't have the money to go buy software. I have been searching online for software. The only thing i have found so far free is software from 2010 up to 2013. I'm not sure If the software will work. Does anyone know if a free software where it is supported on Ubuntu? I wish i can afford to buy one but money is tight and paying rent and food is hard in these times?

In general, linux doesn't use commercial paid software for anything.

No clue what a VNR is. Maybe you have the wrong term? Lots of video recording software exists.

There are a few programs for security video systems, for example 'Motion' and 'ZoneMinder'.

I suggest that you start with Motion and one camera until you got a system that works, then look at ZoneMinder.
