Dual monitor replacement seeing old one, not new

I am using Ubuntu 20.04. I had a dual monitor setup with a Samsung 28" 4K and an LG 32" 4K on a GTX 1050 ti. The LG what south.

I bought a Monoprice 32" 4K to replace the LG.

While waiting for the Monoprice to be delivered, I put a Dell 27" 1920x1080 in place of the LG. It worked, but the resolution was obviously pleasing.

When the Monoprice came, I turned down the OS and replaced the Dell with the Monoprice. But when the OS booted, the Monoprice identifies as a DELL SE2717H/HX with a max resolution of 1920x1080.

Was I supposed to initialize something before installing the new Monoprice? It seems too coincidental that it shows as the same device which it replaced.

    Any ideas?

Since no one else has jumped in....

Did you go into the monitor settings and click on the auto detect?

If ^that doesn't work, try creating another user and logging in as it. Does the issue remain?
