    Re: What can you trust?

The only person I trust for information in Tucson AZ in the states is my wife. She works in a local hospital. She sees the reality of it daily. I wear a mask due to that. I think the media will inflate to get more views and stir stuff up, and the government will deflate to make themselves look good. Can't trust most anything these days sadly. Everyone has an agenda.

    Re: What can you trust?

Here in the UK we haven't fared well with COVID 19. Two of my very near neighbours have died with it (though both had already been sick with other things for some time).
Our current most prominent epidemiologist says it's partly because we were too late to lockdown - however we've done worse than Sweden, which hasn't really had a lockdown.
Others say it's because young people aren't complying with the social distancing rules; in my experience a lot are, some plainly aren't. I find it hard to blame them though - it's an illness that statistically has negligible effect on them, but it's had far worse financial and employment impact on them than on older folks like me.
Others say it's because of our ethnic mix, or because some ethnic groups tend to live in close-knit extended multi-generational family groups - but you can't blame folks for their ethnicity, or for living in arrangements that were previously generally being praised as helpful in addressing loneliness, elderly care, and other social issues.
So I read less news now, and try to keep living before I die as best I can. I socialise outdoors, but not indoors. I go to shops, but not pubs.
I'm not looking forward to winter.

Have anyone noticed how many (how little) politicians got Covid 19, since its outbreak, not considering Boris Johnson and Jair Bolsonaro?

Our Governor has tested positive after the Trump rally in Tulsa Oklahoma.

No. People don't always announce health issues. People who stay at home without any help, or extremely limited help, from outside haven't been getting sick either. I think it is more about the ability to distance from others for long periods than anything else.

More contact for longer periods increases risks. Check out the link I posted above.

One person I know had both his parents die. They were on a cruise ship and stuck there. You'd think he'd be cautious, but he isn't.

In my part of the world, the cases now are 3x worse than they were in late April which was the prior peak. Our government representatives are trading lives for paychecks. That's how it appears to me. That's fine if you or a family member isn't one of the lives traded.

The governments tell people to stay at home. Good! They put people on 14 days quarantine. Excellent!
But, presidents, prime ministers, ministers, kings, queens, princes, princesses, first ladies, first children etc don't get corona virus. Its interesting why they don't get this virus. They move around lot of people, but they don't get sick. One such president even said corona virus is an imagined virus of his opposing party in February - March this year and didn't wear a face mask until now. Are they specially looked after, or are they hiding the solution? Should we really trust those we have voted in to look after us?

The simple answer won't satisfy people looking for conspiracies.
People looking for magic or conspiracies can always find some.
