I'm looking for a simple setup. I want cloud storage to access as a web disk, so that I can use it for backups (using either rsync or rdiff-backup). It would be like my local backups, only off-site.
I currently require less than 100Gb, but that will probably gradually, slowly, increase over time.
The minimum requirements are:
- Reliable company (Amazon, Google, IBM and Microsoft come to mind, but I'm aware that there are many others)
- Encrypted storage isn't necessary, as I'd use a LUKS file as a virtual disk to hold the data on their end (although lack of encryption probably indicates that the company doesn't take security seriously)
- GDPR-compliant, so servers based in the UK or the EU would be sensible (and probably have better connectivity)
My primary concern here is cost. I'd like something cheap, as I would use this only for an "in case" backup — if my computer and all my local backups are lost through, say, a meteorite strike (or, more likely, theft or fire).
Thanks
