    Ubuntu 20.04 does not boot

    Dear,
    I need help.
After a lifetime using Windows I went to venture into the Linux universe. I'm using Ubuntu 20.04
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X380 and I am facing the following problem: I use an external monitor from LG and whenever it is connected to the notebook's HDMI, the operating system will not boot. If I boot without the cable it works normal. Then I connect the cable it works with two screens without problems.
I have already tested several HDMI cables, updated the video drives and did not solve the problem.
I tested Linux Mint and Fedora and didn't have this problem. It is only with Ubuntu.
I don't know what to do anymore.
    Thanks!

Re: Ubuntu 20.04 does not boot

That it works on Mint suggest this is a video driver problem.

What graphics hardware is in that computer? How did you (attempt to) update the video drivers? Are you sure it doesn't boot, or do you only know for sure that you don't get output on the screen?
