    marciano#1; So -

    Back again to:
    linux-image-4.15.0-91-generic
    vmlinuz-4.15.0-76-generic
The question is how dirty do we get in order to remove these ?

I would like to see a current dpkg of the installed kernels:
    Code:
    dpkg -l | grep linux-
and decide if we are to break the package management system in the process to resolve this.

    we have a procedure .....

    marciano#1 Welp -

Do not see here how "vmlinuz-4.15.0-76-generic" plays into this.
    We dig deeper.
As I do prefer the results posted here on the forum - in this case "(pastebin.com is "under heavy load")" is a good thing for me.

    show us:
    Code:
    ls -al /usr/src/
    ls -al /lib/modules/
    ls -al /boot/
we must make all three agree. And in that process, as we go behind the package manager's back, we break the system. We will later have the package manager heal its self. IF we get that dirty.

    there is a way

Getting out of my experience range:
    drw-r-xr-x 8 root root 4096 mar 1 21:12 rtl8192eu-4.4
    debian.bmp
    inside.bmp
    map

Slackware - Debian - Lilo ? What in the world are we dealing with ?
Looks like we will get dirty ! But, presently I do not know what to clean up
    .
What else is also on this ubuntu system ?
    show us:
    Code:
    ls -al /usr/src/rtl8192eu-4.4
    cat -n /etc/apt/sources.list
    cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*.list
Gonna go mow grass for a spell and cogitate on this sloppyation,

consider where we go from here

    Re: Errors during autoremove

    marciano#1; Ho-Kay

I see no reason not to proceed with destruction.
The rtl8192eu-4.4 is a wireless driver and I see nothing in sources to hinder the kernel.

    Here goes:
    Code:
    sudo rm -rf /lib/modules/4.15.0-91-generic
    sudo rm /boot/config-4.15.0-91-generic
    sudo rm /boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-101-generic.dpkg-bak
    sudo rm /boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-106-generic.dpkg-bak
    sudo rm /boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-88-generic.dpkg-bak
    sudo rm /boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-91-generic
    sudo rm /boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-91-generic.dpkg-bak
    sudo rm /boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-96-generic.dpkg-bak
    sudo rm /boot/initrd.img-4.15.0-99-generic.dpkg-bak
    sudo rm /boot/System.map-4.15.0-91-generic
    sudo rm /boot/vmlinuz-4.15.0-76-generic
    sudo rm /boot/vmlinuz-4.15.0-91-generic
    Next repair the package system.
    Code:
    sudo apt -f install
Finally properly uninstall the kernels and headers whose files you already deleted.
    Code:
    sudo apt purge linux-{headers,image}-4.15.0-{76,88,91,96,99,101,106}.*
Reboot and now let's see what is:
    Code:
    sudo apt update
    sudo apt upgrade
    sudo dpkg -C

Still errors here. I didn't continue with purge. Should I?

    marciano#1; Uh HUh

Continue on with the purge - see what happens then run the apt-f install command once more.

if at 1st we do not succeed ->
    try something else
