Can vendors get a look into what is changing in upcoming Kernel updates?

    Hello!
I am a product manager and new'ish to how this works. We have a vendor that is requiring us not to update the kernels until they can catch up to latest Ubuntu kernel releases that we retrieve and apply automagically.

I am wondering if the vendor cannot get a deep technical heads up as to what kernel changes are coming up in an upcoming Ubuntu release to plan ahead to stay in-sync with the kernel updates. Is such a facility not available to them or are they not using it?

    Best,
    RJ

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Thread moved to Ubuntu, Linux and OS Chat for a more appropriate fit.

It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

Thank you wildmanne39. Apologize for posting in wrong forum.

Grahammedhanical, The second link you posted: that appears to be a list of proposed changes in upcoming releases? So technically, if a vendor whose product relies on Kernel versions, should be able to look that up for what is coming down the pipe and be prepared?
