Anyone have experience with the librem 5 phone?

Linux+Gnu has become a great solution for opting out of the mainstream non-free operating systems, but unfortunately the biggest issue with privacy/security turns out to be phones, these days. So the real battle for personal privacy/control over one's digital life has kind of moved to an arena where linux has to date not offered a compelling alternative.

Does anyone have experience with the librem 5 phone? See link below. The site says it has been shipping since Sep 19 or so so I guess there must be users:

The phones specifically are very hot topics.
For me it's ugly when compared to Huawei or Meizu.

Re: Anyone have experience with the librem 5 phone?

Thanks for the link. I really want a privacy-respecting phone. But sounds like the Librem is not quite ready as of December 6, 2019, the date of your linked article:

But, as of now, the Librem 5 is currently unable to make calls or send SMS, and early adopters find that the phone doesn’t last an hour before needing a recharge.
Uhm, a mobile phone, but can't make calls, or send SMS, and not mobile (due to 1 hr battery life). So it's not really mobile, and not really a phone, but more like a really small tablet with cellular data with bad battery life?
