    Gapless CD player

    Hello Guys,

I know it's a bit old style... but I'm using my laptop to play audio CDs and most of the major players pause a couple of seconds between tracks, and it's very annoying.
Is there a gapless player that you would recommend? I'm using Xubuntu 20.04.

    Thanks!

There are DJ tools that do it for Linux. Is that what you want? Something highly manual between each track?

Smart Mix Player may be what you seek, if you want overlapping playback.

Rhythmbox 3.4.4 supplied with Ubuntu 20.04 has a setting where you can have gapless playback.

Especially useful for playing CDs recorded as live performances where one song melds into another.

Rhythmbox > Preferences > Playback > Checkbox Crossfade between tracks > Crossfade duration set to 0 seconds.

Audacious is one of the very few Linux players that properly supports gapless, including for lame encoded mp3.
