You'll want it. Android is virus prone.

every so often i'll download an antivirus and anti-malware program on my phone and do a full scan...it never picks up anything.
years back i had a year subscription on a popular antivirus for my phone , also never picked up anything ,so i decided i'm not paying for it anymore lol.
so i'll just download the trial version and then delete it again after scans.(don't like stuff permanently running in background on phone)
but yea its probably best to have a good paid antivirus and/or anti-malware installed on android.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security installed on my Android phone. Cyber crime is at an all time high and one of my accounts had been hacked twice! Since installing Kaspersky it has not happened since. I can't say for certain that stopped it but it doesn't hurt anything and it's better than doing nothing at all.

    Re: Anti-malware software on Android

I'm with the "no" crowd. I use my phone for phone calls, messaging, testing sites for mobile compatibility, and light browsing if I'm in an office somewhere waiting. I am not an app addict, most of it is what came with the phone except for Chrome. I don't use it for any secure functions like logging in to bank apps or any other accounts. I killed my Flakebook early this year. So if by chance my phone got hacked, I'd throw it away, time for a new one anyway.
