Exclamation Not booting if laptop not plugged in

I have an ASUS FX505DT with AMD Ryzen 3550H processor and GTX1650 Graphics card. I currently have Kubuntu installed in it. The desktop session only starts if laptop is plugged in. Else it's complete black screen after entering my password. Also, the cursor on login screen is showing only if laptop is plugged in. Before this, I've tried Ubuntu 20.04 and PopOS 20.04 too, but the same problem persists. Seems like a problem in my CPU microcode or the kernel itself when searching through internet.

I've also tried updating my kernel. In that case, this problem gets fixed, but nvidia drivers completely break, forcing me to use noveou drivers.

What nVidia driver are you using and where did you get it from?
