Please I'm new here and new to Ubuntu and I've encounter a problem. Which is: The Error message was: 'Error; Opening the cache (E:Malformed entry 58 in list file /etc/apt/sources.list (Components), E: The list of sources could not be read.)'.

The system directs attention to the file /etc/apt/sources.list.
Please post back the contents - Between code Tags - resulting from terminal command:

cat -n /etc/apt/sources.list

something is wrong in line 58 of file /etc/apt/sources.list

or the URL is dead (inactive).
