    multiple monitor settings

I'm using kde on a laptop. When connecting to an external monitor, several undesirable behaviours started, and I have not found a way to modify them. The external monitor is set up as an extended desktop (not mirroring).

    1. When connecting the external monitor windows move automatically to the secondary monitor. This sometimes happens also after suspend. I would like to stop windows from moving between monitors automatically. (I accept that some smart automatic movement might be useful, but I just end up moving windows manually back to the laptop all the time.)

    2. Having different desktops on the external and laptop monitors would be great. I understand KDE does not have this option. Are other environments/window manager better in this respect?

    3. Is it possible to have a panel on the secondary monitor when it is connected (and not have it when disconnected)?
