    Xubuntu 20.04 pause/play keybindings

I'm using an Air Mouse remote for a media application, mythtv-frontend. I have it mostly working. I've had to remove and change some of the settings -> keyboard shortcut so that I could use the mythfrontend key editor to assign those keys for my needs.

However, the play and pause button can not be assigned in mythfrontend because it is being used somewhere else in Xubuntu. I know that the pause play button works in the default music app, parole, but I don't want it there. I want it in mythfrontend.

    How can I fix this?

need pause/play keyboard bindings in app other than Parole

I have Xubuntu 20.04 installed and the keyboard bindings for pause and play seem to work fine for Parole, but I do not want that.

I don't use Parole, I use mythfrontend and when I try to edit the keyboard bindings in that app I can't do anything with pause and play. They are not seen by that app.

    How can I change this?

in the panel preferences find the pulseaudio plugin(volume control),
Right Click, Properties, media players. Disable "Control playback of
    media players".
