Hello and welcome to the forum linuxloverforever.
Thread moved to Ubuntu, Linux and OS Chat for a more appropriate fit.
Please use the default font color and properties unless you need to highlight or draw attention to a part of your post.
oh! sorry about that! i'll post in the right sub-forum then!
Hi, your thread is in the correct sub-forum now since I moved it so please do not start a new thread, and no worries this is how we all learn.
My favorite is Pantheon which are default in eOS. I do also like KDE for its configuration-ness.

I've loved GNOME2, but also MATE, XFCE, KDE (esp. 4), and more
This my primary box is running LXQt currently, and it's where I feel most at home. XFCE would be a close second, in fact my LXQt setup mimics my much older XFCE setup.
Which is my favorite? Depends when you asked me (down to the minute probably).
Do we need a favorite? Why limit ourselves? If I decide I want to switch, I just logout & log back in using another DE (on my rather bloated box having many DEs installed; don't do it.. load too many and it can get messy...)
I was using ICE-WM earlier today.. It felt like I was back in the 90s (OS/2 themes I setup long ago were still there)....
Nah I'd need my old D&D dice to decide on a favorite.
Currently KDE, but I can't say I love it. Now, antiX does a superb job with IceWM - enough so it truly is lovable. I do however wish I could strip out some of the unnecessary bits-n-pieces, particularly unneeded configuration tools. But OTOH I've never been able to get IceWM to work as well in Debian or Ubuntu as the AntiX devs have so just using it out-of-box is simple and gets the job done with no hassle.
It depends on what I'm doing and what the "hardware" is. On my main box, I use Xfce4 (Xubuntu). If I'm running a machine or VM with limited capabilities, I use OpenBox.
I did have a look at PekWM at one point, but I'm uncertain if it's being developed any more.
BACKUPS are unsexy until you discover you should have done one yesterday.
Spare your nerves and do one before you upgrade or install.
KDE, honestly.
I use GNOME a lot, but it's because a trustworthy KDE-based distro that will run on my hardware is extremely hard to find.
Like a parent with 10 kids I have no favorite,
but I use unity the most.
