What is your fav DE (desktop environment) or WM (window managers)

Xfce, definitely, though with a different look to the default, using a left side panel full of launchers, and conky displays of useful info.

I keep looking at others, usually in VMs but always come back to Xfce where I'm most at home and feel very comfortable.

I don't have a single favorite DE or WM. I regularly use Openbox, Xfce, LXQt, Fluxbox, KDE Plasma, and GNOME. Over the years, I've enjoyed several others. Sometimes it seems like my favorite is whatever DE/WM I happened to be logged into. Today, that's Fluxbox. Yesterday it was GNOME Shell.

Ah! Yeah, I use a vertical left oriented panel myself! With Xfce, but also with other DEs/WMs, even KDE Plasma.

I don't use DEs, just WMs. Just too much bloat.
Openbox and fvwm depending on the system. Both are pretty customizable and there's no need to learn some new GUI every 2 yrs because somebody decided that change for the sake of change was needed.
My fvwm settings have mostly survived since 2005.

I have used all the mentioned DE above. I now use Ubuntu Budgie and it's Budgie window manager.

another reason i like IceWm is the old look of it! it just looks great! also it's speed

I've settled on XFCE lately. Since I'm pxe booting all but one machine in my house it's nice and light for the pxe environment, yet full and complete as well. Also can be very traditional which saves headaches of "where do I?" or "how do I?".
