I have an audio issue in which on bootup running any audio sources through firefox will not yield any sound. It is only once I open another application such as google play music or Rhythmbox and play something through those channels does the audio come back to firefox. In addition, if I kill the audio from my desktop audio sources the browser's audio seems to time out and be muted again.
I have attempted to reinstall alsa and use alsa's force-reload but it does not seem to yield a permanent fix between reboots.
What are some steps I can take to further try and debug this issue?
