The dark window color setting doesn't work for gnome shell, I have made a thread when I used Ubuntu 19.10, I thought it would be repaired when 20.04 be released! however................ , such an obvious design defect

@larryw3i, I've made a number of edits to your two posts as follows:

    1. Removed the giant images and restored the clickable thumbnails.
    2. Restored the default font formatting to the text in the first post.

Please do not include full-sized images in posts. This is discourteous to forum members with limited bandwidth internet connections and those using mobile devices. You were able to use the forum image-upload utility - thumbnails suffice.

Also, do not use a giant font size with bold tags. This can be interpreted as shouting - just as with all-caps posts - and is more likely to discourage forum members from helping than attract them.

No, they were not. If you want help, provide a coherent description of what you don't like about the theme, and whatever questions you might have.

So if you don't like it use something else.

Re: The dark window color setting doesn't work for gnome shell

Application themes and Gnome Shell themes have always been separate - neither affects the other. The window colors settings only affect the default Yaru application theme, not any Gnome Shell theme. And if you use a different applicatiion theme than Yaru, these settings are of no use to you, as it switches your application theme to Yaru.

If you want the menus in the panel to be dark, you must use a dark Gnome Shell theme. There are lots of them available.

Re: The dark window color setting doesn't work for gnome shell

Dark Window Color is only for Default Yaru Theme and automatically sets the applications theme to Yaru Dark. There is a matching gnome shell theme, Yaru Dark, that gives you the dark menus. Select that as well (from Tweaks). Everything matches perfectly.
