    Ubuntu 18.04 / 16.04 64bit install fail

    Hi,

Ubuntu 64 bit distros are not installing. I have tried Rufus, live USB and etcher, none of them allowed the usb to be detected during boot. The only thing that has been able to get me to grub has been Yumi UEFI. On install, 64 bit linux distros do not work, but 32bit works. I have tried Ubuntu 18.04/16.04 64 bit and mint 64 bit....nothing worked. The only thing that worked so far has been ubuntu 16.04 32 bit.

IMG 0998 = This is where then install fails.

    Any ideas?

    Hi, welcome to the fora.

You have a Coffee Lake processor which might not be well supported by 18.04. Have you tried 20.04?

    Thankyou for the quick reply.

I haven't tried 20.4. I am downloading it now to give it a try

These observations are strange and I don't know what to advise. Hoping others have something to add.

It's of course an option to use 16.04 until april 2021.
