Not really new ....but

Hi Group,

Not really new to Ubuntu. I started experimenting with it about ten years ago....and then followed a long period when I drifted in and out of the O.S.

Recently I've been experimenting with installing Lubuntu onto some really old laptops. Successful but both machines were slow.
I decided that I needed to get a 64 bit machine to really investigate the potential of Ubuntu.
Last week I noticed an Acer Aspire V laptop on Facebook Marketplace...£150.
I bought it.
64 bit machine with a 1Tb drive.

I decided to install Ubuntu but make it a duel boot machine.

I have to say, everything just works perfectly.
Ubuntu has so much to offer and runs so quickly. I really am delighted with my purchase.

Just wondering....does anybody know of any Ubuntu focus blogs that I should be reading.
I've found loads of Youtube videos but wondering whether there are any blogs?

Check the "Related Websites" section at https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubuntu.
Some of the links might be outdated, but it should be a good start.

But be very cautious with third party sites giving recommendations that may not be suitable for anybody else other than the writer.

There are several sites telling users new to Ubuntu (and Mint) which applications to install immediately after installing the OS but most often they suggest applications that I, and probably you, will never ever use.
