Question Video frame lag in VLC and SMPlayer

    Hello,
A few weeks (Thursday, January 23, 2020) Ubuntu 18.04 did a software update, after which H.264, MKV, or AVI video files started running shakily with classic VLC and SMPlayer players.
I also installed Extras Codec Pack and all the same. I increased cash at 5000 ms in VLC and 2048 MB in SMPlayer, the same result. At a 5 minute interval "hang" as a frame, which in more than 10 months since using Ubuntu has not happened to me. I suffered something similar in Linux Mint a year ago.
I mention that I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop, 4 GB RAM, 2.1 Ghz I5 CPU and 500 GB 5400 Rpm HDD. Intel HD / ATI GPU.
In the meantime I also gave a hard disk defrag, using the same partition in P2P.
    Thanks,

Did you ever install and graphics drivers? If so, what one and where did you get it from?
