    Joystick mapper for Linux?

So I have a couple of T16000M's that I use in a HOSAS-setup for Star Citizen. They're both autodetected nicely in Linux, with the one small niggle that the sliders on the joysticks aren't detected. Trying to bind them to an action in Star Citizen is simply ignored like they're not active or something.

What would I do to make them detectable? I was wondering what the de facto joystick mapping software in linux is nowadays, searching yields a bunch of decade-old and unmaintained apps, and I get the feeling I'm missing some obvious program that made all those older ones obsolete.
