Sound card recognized, but no sound output

Hi all,

Settings seem to be in place (not muted, correct sound card selected), and it actually worked for a while. But after a day or so in it stopped working for no apparent reason? Maybe some new software installation interfered??

I'm using a fresh ubuntu 18.04.3 install (just switched in full from windows) -- complete newbie.

I posted this issue in some other places and tried the basic troubleshooting guides available, but no solution, and I'm affraid trying to fix it may have caused more damages.

Hi, on the information you have provided elsewhere, it shows that you have two sound cards,

card 0: Audio [Intel HDMI/DP LPE Audio], device 0: HdmiLpeAudio [Intel HDMI/DP LPE Audi] and

card 1: bytcrrt5651 [bytcr-rt5651], device 0: 3 []

Haven't gone through it myself but this may be of use....

Hi thanks for replying! I have tried to installed the drivers in that link, made it work for a while and then stopped. The sound that works is the second one.
Don't even know where to start really... Any advice on troubleshooting? @gdesilva
