Hi,
I'm not new to Ubuntu but don't really know much about the inner workings of the OS, hardware etc. I've completely removed Windows from my laptop and installed Ubuntu (18.04.3) but it's running really slowly. The laptop is fairly old but I would have thought Ubuntu would be faster than Windows? I don't really know where to start with trying to speed it up so hopefully someone can give me some advice. I have an Acer Aspire V5-573P (link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aspire-V5-5.../dp/B00GYXZB3S).
The 'About' page of the settings shows the following:
Memory: 7.7 GiB
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4200U CPU @ 1.60GHz × 4
Graphics: Intel® Haswell Mobile
Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to start with trying to speed it up please? Is it likely to be a problem with drivers or is the hardware too old?
Thanks,
