Anyone have a free phone app (i.e., Textnow, Dingtone) working on Android X86?

Has anyone been able to get one of the phone apps from the Google play store working on an Android X86 installation? Or one of the other Android based desktop OSes, such as Prime OS?

My tablet is rather slow so I thought I'd give Android X86 a shot on desktop and install Dingtone on it. The app did install, but it would crash immediately when opening. It was the 32 bit version of Android X86, not sure how much that matters.

I don't have much use for tablets and prefer desktops, so it would be great if I get a phone app working on an actual computer. I wonder if these apps just aren't meant for desktops, though.
