PC won't boot from lubuntu iso bootable disk

I created a bootable DVD by buring the disk image of the lubuntu iso file (lubuntu-18.04-alternate-i386.iso), and when I restart my old Dell labtop (running VISTA) the DVD starts spinning and the computer thinks for a bit, but eventually Windows boots. How can I install lubuntu? I also tried a USB and changed the BIOS to load from the USB, that didn't work either. Thanks for all your help!

Please help us help you. Tell us about the computer: specify the brand name and model.

With whatever software you are using, did you select the option to 'burn as image' when writing to the DVD?

Are you certain you changed and saved the change to boot from the DVD drive? Do other data DVDs work as expected?

A computer with a DVD may be fairly old, does it meet minimum hardware spec's.

Yancek, Actually this was the issue. I thought the boot order would boot from the DVD, and it appeared to be doing that, but there was another CD/DVD item in the BIOS that I moved up to the #1 spot, and then it installed properly. Thank you!

Glad to hear that. A bootable USB is far faster than an optical disk.
