    Samsung UR59C 4K Monitor

    New Desktop PC
    Motherboard - Ausu PRIME X570-P

    I'm now looking at Samsung UR59C 4K Monitor.

    Video Inputs	1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x HDMI 2.0

    Max Resolution & Refresh Rate	3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz, Pixel Density: 139ppi
    According to;
    What is the difference between HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0?
    https://brightsign.zendesk.com/hc/en...-and-HDMI-2-0-

    You're reading the specifications wrong. The specs you've posted say that first and second generation Ryzens are limited to HDMI 1.4, which is feasible: the PCIe lanes come from the CPU. They are silent on the capabilities of third generation Ryzens, which is what you're planning to put in it. It seems to me that if all generations of Ryzen were restricted in that way they wouldn't have specifically called out the first two, but you could always contact Asus to confirm that.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your advice.

    Have contacted ASUS technical support and just received their reply mentioning;
    Code:
    As we check the record, the PRIME X570-P/CSM is supporting

    HDMI 1.4b with max. It’s not supporting HDMI 2.0.
    Also please see the attached file.

    The new PC is mainly for graphic and video editing including hosting VirtualBox. It is not for playing videos. In such a circumstance whether I need adding a graphic card to pair the Samsung 4K display.

    If YES, is there any recommendation? Thanks in advance.
