    Re: mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.27 stops suddenly on ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS

    It still happens.

    Crontab workaround:
    5 * * * * bash -c "sleep 10; if pgrep mysql; then exit; else /etc/init.d/mysql start; fi" > /dev/null
    7 * * * * bash -c "sleep 10; if pgrep mysql; then exit; else /sbin/reboot; fi" > /dev/null
    See my latest logs below:
    (systemctl status mysql.service)
    ● mysql.service - MySQL Community Server
    Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/mysql.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)

    Turns out it's because I have not enough memory and swap is not configured.

    $ sudo grep -i "mysql" /var/log/syslog

    Ok, I followed below manual in order to create swap file:
    https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...n-ubuntu-18-04
    Will see if it helps in couple days or weeks (initial error may occur once a few days or even weeks).
