Right, so PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric) in California has decided they can switch our power off when it seems like they might accidentally start a wildfire because they "forgot" to spend the money to maintain their power lines.
I'm regrettably old school on this one. Can anyone give me a hint about how to use a cellphone cheaply to maintain a decent, if not stellar, internet connection? Can a cellphone be made to act as an AP for a desktop or laptop, even though the electricity, and along with it, the cable company and its cable modem, has gone dark? Can you do it without paying for an expensive "tethering" plan?
Thanks in advance.
BTW: Hey all, been gone from the forums for a while... Glad the forums still seem to thrive.
