    Re: Replacement for Dropbox

Hi. Thanks, but I don't see how to make this script backup to the cloud.
I have been using ubuntu on and off for more than a decade. I understand the basics. I backup my essential work to disk, dvd, thumbdrive and the cloud. I would really like to have a system independent of dropbox etc using my own cloud storage but I do not have the time and intellectual bandwidth to wrote a solution from scratch! If there is a decent solution available I would love to know about it. Otherwise I feel I am stuck with the conventional mainstream solutions, drawbacks and all.

Well, if your 'cloud' server is a $5 Ubuntu server on Linode, then it works exactly the same as when it is a RaspberryPi on a corner of your desk.
