It finds other MFP-series printers, but only goes to MFP M477.

Your equipment is supported by HP's HPLIP utility in version 3.19.6. You can obtain it from the HPLIP download site at https://sourceforge.net/projects/hplip/files/hplip/ That's also the version in the 19.10 repository (as of today).
