Xplanet not displayed on Desktop Ubuntu 18 or 19.04

I have tried everything and can't figure it out.

The backgrounds folder is locked in 19.04, I don't know commands to find or display the png. Please help.

On another pc with Ubuntu 19.04 I can see a desktop with plain planet earth, when rebooting.

Re: Xplanet not displayed on Desktop Ubuntu 18 or 19.04

I received help from Molly at xplanet.sorceforge.net.

    ome details about the images...

It may be that you weresetting the background to a COPY of the picture.
    Copies are notrefreshed by xplanetFX.
The two pictures in the output folderping1 and ping2 are always created by xplanetfx.
    Their namesnever change.

The file option creates a third.
Itcan be set with any name and any location.
It must stay where itis and beused from there.

    Copies wont work.

Youcould experiment and try to reproduce the problem.
That way wecould help the next person with the same symptoms.

I thinkyou ought to get back to the ubuntu forum and discuss it there aswell.

Is it running under gnome 3.32?

Have youexperimented with the other environment choices?
Ror futurereference, can you tell me what the login choice menu has in 19.04please?

    -Molly
