Getting vino or any other vncserver to run...

    Hi,

I've tried a few vncservers, but of the ones I tried they used a 'virtual desktop' environment. All I'm after is a remote from the local LAN onto the same desktop as I see when sat at the machine.

I tried vino as its already installed, but the `vino-preferences` doesn't appear to work anymore.

Someone suggested a deconf-editor, but when I navigate to org/gnome/desktop/remote-access everything looks ok.

I then test with a vnc client on a seperate machine using IP:5900 and I just get an error message 'the port on the computer could not be contacted'

    Please help

Look in System Settings > Sharing.
