Help Please-No Wi-Fi adapter found on new install

    Hi everybody,
I need some help. I asked previously but the issue could not be resolved. I did a clean install and hope i will fare better this time. i have Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS. Gnome 3.28.2. USB wi-fi adapter (realtek drivers i think).

This installation is on a multi boot computer running Windows XP pro and Windows 7.
The adapter works flawlessly on these two systems. On Ubuntu it is saying that (? no WiFi adapter found - Make sure you have Wi-Fi adapter plugged and turned on)
at this point i do not know where to start. Any assistance is appreciated

    thanks
