Audacity won't recover the last recordings

    Hey guys!
After a fresh Ubuntu 18.04. install, Audacity's being a pain in the butt. It still crashes eventually and while it did more often before the fresh install, it at least did recover the last recordings. It doesn't now. It does attempt to, but the recording is a flat line and there's no audio. Any way to fix this?

What are the specs on your machine?

I have used Audacity for years with no problems. Right now, I have one machine (dual core Pentium4) that records 18 channels via USB cable with no issues.

    Have you tried reinstalling it?

I did reinstall it and it didn't help. aside from occasional crashes, i didn't use to have any problems, either.
I upgraded my ram from 4 to 8 GB and changed my HDD for a SSD, reinstalled Ubuntu and now i have these problems. maybe it's the newest Audacity version that's the problem?

Have you looked on the Audacity website to see if others have reported the same problem? Did you specify a directory for the temp files? Have you run a memory test? New doesn't always equal good.
