Connection Lost Acer Aspire One...

Hello!
OK, this is really new to me. I've been a MS Windows user since day one but I've got an Acer Aspire One Netbook which was locking up under Windows 7 & 10. So I had the thought of trying Linux. I managed to get Lubuntu installed and I'm already very impressed! The problem I have is that it sees my router, and I successfully input my password, but then it pops up with a message in the top right corner of the screen saying 'connection lost, no longer connected to ***'. I have no idea whatsoever what to do next as I said earlier, I'm a complete Linux virgin.
i have attached an image, but I'm sure you clever lot will already know what I'm babbling on about.
If I can get the wifi up and running, I'd be one happy camper!

Let's begin with general maintenance. If you connect using wire can you download and install updates?

Please run the wireless-script from the sticky thread and show the outputs

Hi mörgæs, that seemed to sort it! I connected directly to the router and it started to update itself automatically. I checked for driver updates and it found nothing, but it must have done it all in the background because when I unplugged the network cable, I connected straight away to WiFi. Thanks again! Now it's time to get familiar with the OS. 😊
