the meeting was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but ..."the meeting has been moved forward by 2 days" ... on what day is the meeting?

In Abstract: And Thought provoking. At least it made me stop and think.

If time is conceived as a river, we either have the perspective of seeing ourselves as moving downstream toward the future; We are approaching the future (& rdquo;, called ego moving), or we have the perspective of the future as moving upstream toward us ;(The future is.)
With realization of one's own potential and self-confidence in one's ability, one can build a better world.

That patient merit of th' unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,

The undiscovered country from whose bourn
No traveler returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,

Look up the definition of Bourn(e).
It is a type of river, that water ceases to flow once depleted.

This is a civilian construct. Military would not quantify the delay but instead specify the new time/date.

Isn't Monday going backwards. Friday would be the forward two days. Time moves forward.
Then I've always heard "its been moved up". Friday. If I hear "its been moved back", then its Monday.
I've never heard of moved forward....but your right, what's the catch?

...I should just set back and watch, or move my chair forward and listen.

Re: the meeting has been moved forward by 2 days

I would interpret moving it forwards as making it earlier. From Wednesday to Monday (or to the preceding Friday if only counting weekdays).
Equally, moving it backwards would be delaying it, making it later.

Here in the UK, we talk of events that are scheduled in the future, and of bringing it forward (i.e closer to you, earlier) or pushing it back (away from you, further away in time). Often in hours, not days, such as bring a meeting forward from 3pm to 2pm.

If you're not familiar with the usage, then it's not obvious what it means, especially if you omit the old and new times.
