Wifi doesn't detect available networks after reboot

i am using Ubuntu 18.04 in HP laptop. Initially it showed 'no wifi adapters'. I used the commands that I found in https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2392454 to install drivers and it was working fine. But after a reboot now it is showing 'no networks'. USB tethering is working. Please help me through it as I'm new to ubuntu
