Just installed vanilla gnome LTS edition on my 13, 2 (late 2012) 27" iMac as a dual boot with mac os. EVERYthing worked out of the box! iSight camera, Mac edition Nvidia graphics, everything! It runs cooler and is way quicker than mac os on the same machine. And, I gotta say, I haven't up until this point, been a fan of the Gnome DE. Ubuntu did Gnome right though. On the negative side, I'm not warming up at to the Snap platform at all and have replaced as many Snap apps as possible. Also, some of the shell extensions are clonky but that's not Ubuntu's fault. Overall, I couldn't be more please with Ubuntu on my Mac. It just works!
