Smile Java is Activated under Add-Ons options of Firefox but the Java Applet Not shown

    Hello to all,

I need to run an old Java applet based website. So I have installed compatible Firefox 49 (32-Bit) and JRE 1.8.0_221 (32-bit) on Ubuntu 18.04.3 (64-Bit)desktop. I got success to list the java plugins and its is activated under Add-on options of Firefox. But when I try to verify java at URL: www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp , the java applet is not shown , even though its detected. Only a white box of java applet is shown (No Logo of Java). Also the pop up for permission to run java do not come up.

Kindly guide what can be the issue. Also I have already activated java to run browser under security tab of Java Control Panel.

    Thanks

    Madhav
