Talking character model glitch in Witcher 3

Whenever I get close to NPCs, their bodies become featureless and black. Geralt is always this way.

I've been trying to get Witcher 3 to run. I got it running for GOG using Wine. But it was glitchy and unplayable. Then I got it to run faster by plugging in a USB making a swap file for spare RAM. I saw a post about dxvk and lutirs or whatever so I reinstalled Lutirs. In Lutris, I can actually see all of the characters! but, the game becomes even slower and unplayable again. I'm talking 3 second lag, a 30 second dialog screen takes 10 minutes.
How do I make my wine version of the game run like lutris? should I do a winebottle thing?
Hey thanks. I new to Ubuntu (a year and a half) so I can set up a lot. but I'm not THIS good at Wine and Terminal stuff.

This game seems to be plagued by graphical bugs, and the problem its the implementation of some graphical processing on wine.
I suggest to get the latest version of wine and wait for more updates for better renderer performance.
