I have elementary OS and Windows 10 on dual boot. Grub was working fine after installation but after a while I started ending up with a blank screen with just the grub prompt instead of my usual boot choices.
Running boot-repair via a live USB stick ends up with "An error occurred during the repair" message. I have tried the following suggestion on the same boot-repair error message dialog "Please do not forget to make your BIOS boot on sdb1/EFI/ubuntu/shimx64.efi". I used bcdedit when in Windows command prompt as suggested. This still did not resolve the issue.
Here is the pastebin url from the BootInfo summary generated by boot-repair.
