18.04 firefox - recent update broke xml

I have some files on my system that I browse with firefox.

    file:///some/folder/data.xml

And data.xml is formatted using an xsl stylesheet.

This worked fine until this weekend. Now, I just see a big blob of unformatted text when I visit data.xml.

You might have an extension that is causing FF to only display the text nodes. Try disabling ALL your extensions and the opening an XML file.
    See also: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1193967
you'll have to add the <Doctype> tag to your XML document.

If safe mode doesn't help try this extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...on/pretty-xml/

I use xsl stylesheet, and the headers of both the xml and xsl files are by-the-book. This has worked for a looooonnnnnngggg time. It started to be displayed incorrectly with the recent ubuntu updates. I don't have any extensions.

Would like to see the XML file your speaking of. If possible or safe to do so.
I see no problems on my end after i adapted to change.
You might not care, but offering anyway>>>Seamonkey also is a valuable browser for myself, and has not failed to open XML files.

A useful tool for XML validation is XMLCopyEditor. There is a version in Ubuntu Software Centre. Otherwise install the latest from web site.

I don't know xsl or xml, but the examples here https://www.w3schools.com/xml/tryxsl...file=cdcatalog work for me in Firefox Nightly 70.0a1 on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS when I edit the xml file.
