    Adam Conrad reminds us that Ubuntu 18.10 had a support life of nine months which is nearing its end on July 18, 2019. A Link is provided for how to upgrade your system to Ubuntu 19.04.

    Alan Griffiths announces the release of Mir 1.3.0; with PPA link or link to source tarball provided. Alan tells us of new support for Mir based shells with detail and links as necessary.

    Wallpaper competition - Eoan Ermine 19.10

    Support for shell components landed in Mir

    William Wold tells us of advantages of running shell components "out-of-process" which include stability and compatibility. The first of these out-of-process shell component protocols have now landed for Mir 1.3.0.

    Xfce 4.14pre2 released!

    Simon Steinbeiß notifies us that the second pre-release version for Xfce 4.14 is out with many bug-fixes. Simon lists some highlights including xfce4-panel, xfwm4, thunar, xfce4-settings, xfdesktop and xfconf. Some details of where we can test are provided.

    Material Shell’ is Probably The Most Impressive Thing You’ll See This Month

    Joey Sneddon tells us that Material Shell is a new GNOME Shell extension in beta which replaces the normal Shell workflow with one more suited to tiling.
