    LINUX a System 76 laptop—both exclusivelyUbuntu, and both very sound, well-built laptops.

    If hibernation, suspend/resume and automatic screen blanking/locking are important then DON'T get a HP Pavilion g7 (AMD A4). It came with Windows 7 and never had a problem but I have never been able to make those features work on any Linux distro. It just goes to sleep but won't wake up.

    I always find think pads to be perfect machines for Ubuntu. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P1 (2nd Gen) and very happy with the peformance. I use to have a Dell which was equally as good. Very reliable brands, both of them in my opionion.

    ^^ Testify. I own a System 76 Gazelle and it rocks. Their support is stellar as well. Although the box comes from China, they are based in Colorado and stand behind their work. I would love to own a Thelio someday soon.
