always wait for v2, mark2 or whatever

i bought this new car. last version of the model as they were phasing it out. since they had to sell it it was much cheaper than when it was still in production. i thought i will have it for 5, maybe 7 years. that was 15 years ago. so far just normal wear and very few mechanical errors. so i keep driving it and plan to do it until major error pops out. it is might not be worth to fix major issue as now it its value is probably less than 300 EUR.
Read the easy to understand, lots of pics Ubuntu manual.
Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?
Full disk backup (newer kernel -> suitable for newer PC): Clonezilla
User friendly full disk backup: Rescuezilla

    Re: The Pi4 has launched

Just got my Pi 4 yesterday. I'm running the latest Raspian Buster on it right now...it's very nice. I had to edit the config.txt to make an HDMI connection to the screen I'm using, but beyond that I've had no problems.
Right now there aren't many custom images for the RPi4...and I'm looking forward to a compatible release of Ubuntu Mate 18.04. I understand there's a workaround to get Ubuntu Server installed, then upgrade from there, but I'll wait for a complete release.

I like that it can be powered via PoE, but even with a full power supply, it can't power the 3 to 4 USB cams I'd want to connect to it. I already have two Pis sitting around doing nothing because Kodi stopped being valuable and they can only run one camera.

Just attach a powered USB hub. A bit bulky, but it'll work.

    I don't like Pi's and look alike.
They need a 5V critical not supplied power supply.
They need home made cooling mods
    They need home made box.
They have connectors every where like a hedgehog.
They don't come with infrared remote and receiver.
They have no OS and no internal storage.
Yes They have a huge GPIO connector if you really need it.
For almost the same price you get an Intel mini PC or ARM set top box.
Some ,to my surprise, run Ubuntu very well
Armbian and Openelec are good alternatives.
Happy user of Ubuntu-20.04 on a Beelink BT3pro mini PC
